Mr. Manit Jain Co Founder, The Heritage Schools
In 2003, Manit Jain, has his Master's in Education from The Harvard University and he co-founded the Heritage Schools, now known as The Heritage Xperiential Learning School. Almost 15 years ago he envisioned a project based education system with an inter-disciplinary curriculum, much on the lines of what the world now admires Finland for. His work drew inspiration from The Expeditionary Learning Schools, USA, Gandhi's work based education, Waldorf Schools and Sri Aurobindo's learning principles. His is perhaps the only model of real and meaningful experiential learning at this scale in the country. Given his passion for reforms in education he has also set up a unique model for practice based teacher preparation, called I am a Teacher in collaboration with Boston Teacher Residency. This is a one year full time program running out of The Heritage Xperiential Learning School with its second center starting at the American School of Bombay this year. Besides this he also runs two government schools in Delhi and Gurgaon and supports 140 tribal schools in the North East and Rajasthan.
