Mr. Imran Jafar is a Partner at Gaja Capital started in 2004 as an independent, India-focused private equity firm that provides growth capital to leaders in emerging sectors. He has a post graduate degree in software engineering from BITS-Pilani and an MBA from IIM-Bangalore.

He started his career at Wipro Technologies. Later, he gained 12 years of experience in Private Equity, Pharmaceuticals and Technology services.

Prior to this company, Jafar was an Associate Director with Dr. Reddy’s in their portfolio management team in the U.S. His sector interest spans emerging sectors like Education, Healthcare, Defense and Consumer goods. Jafar is closely involved with Gaja’s Education and Consumer portfolios including Educomp Solutions (India’s largest education company), Millennium Schools (India’s largest for-profit private K12 chain), CL Educate (India’s largest Test Prep and Higher Education Services Company), Indus World Schools (India’s leading chain of K12 schools) and John Distilleries Pvt. ltd (India’s 5th largest spirits company).
