Ms. Lina Ashar is the Founder of Kangaroo Kids Preschool and Billabong High International School. Ms. Ashar did her primary schooling in England before moving to Australia, where she acquired her Bachelor’s degree in Education from Melbourne’s Victoria College. Her conviction to offer an education, which sets child at its centre, led her to start her first preschool in Bandra, Mumbai, in 1993 with 13 students. The journey from one Kangaroo Kids preschool to 73 schools (including 55 Kangaroo Kids and 18 Billabong High International Schools) across 24 different cities in India as well as in Dubai and Maldives has been a challenge that Ms. Ashar has met smoothly. Apart from pioneering learner-centric processes and research based curriculum, she introduced some of the most impactful changes in the field of education. Some of those changes are path breaking methodologies and processes like real time delivery of curriculum, inclusive education, open-entry system, lowest teacher-student ratios, parent partnership model and thematic learning.
